Personal Style: Earvin Aquino

Me and my labor day outfit.

With the present weather condition here in the Philippines, it is too risky to hit the beach, given that it is already a peak season to get wet. People get wet nowadays in two ways, either from perspiration or from unpredictable rain showers. Argh.

These are just one of those times when you can go out in shorts and jacket, paired with a pair of big sunglasses and sneakers... The get up is cool, comfy, and ready. By the way, I wore a sleeveless shirt underneath my jacket *wink*

Courage Rich To Wear Herchcovich

I have to admit that I am no expert in the rules, stitches, and weaves of fashion but I'm a learner ;) And with my learning, Alexandre Herchcovich is already a familiar name. However, the name that I have heard about comes with a style, a sense of fashion that is both familiar and peculiar.

In the latest collection of Alexandre Herchcovich, I believe one needs to have the guts and to be really courage-rich or else, the whole thing will not work. Though yeah, same thing goes for all fashions.

Check out these 2009 Spring/ Summer looks from Alexandre Herchcovich.

Key elements of the style:
1.) Bold colors
2.) Prints
3.) Structure
4.) Male fashion afficionado

Yay or Nay? (Comment Poll)

Just browsed through Yahoo's OMG section and spotted this photo of one of America's sweethearts, Drew Barrymore. The section was, "What Were They Thinking?!"

Sometimes, I disagree with the reviewer, however, I don't want to feel that I'm the only sour cherry. So, what do you think?

Yay or Nay?

Wind In The Hair

The wind in the hair effect is an infectious look applicable to both runway and print. Embodying this kind of style would definitely take effect if your hair obviously participates.

Being in a country where there are only two seasons applicable (summer and rainy), it is quite hard to keep up with a style that would suit one's personality and bring edge to something normal. However, with all efforts of research and the availability of materials, thanks to our western friends (wink), choosing hairstyles for a hot season can always be as fun as making lemonade with so much ice.

Here are some hairstyles that I myself have handpicked.
Personal thought with these looks: Often do bangs accentuate the beauty of the eyes, however, during a hot season, you can keep the bangs and let it fly up, or better keep it rather short and clean to clear the face ;)

Think it works for you? Try it! ;)

Adding "Height" To Your Style

Did you know that you can actually create an illusion of looking tall without the bloody, messy, expensive surgery? Yes you can! And for one reason, this is no health blog, so we skip the gruesome surgery talk... LOL

Your clothes can actually give you a little boost of height if you're not that gifted vertically. Making cuffs on your pants, 2-3 folds, can actually create a look that would somehow trick that you are tall. It's like showing that your pants are not long enough for you.

Can't picture it? Then scroll down and picture these:

Now bend down and try it! ;)

Advantage On Vintage

The sun is up and getting soaked wet one way or another will be simply irresistible. As you hit the streets, the beach, the waves, or whatever, add color to the scene with a vintage look.

You'll never go wrong with vintage... unless you overdo ;)

Simplicity In Chic Ways

What look should you have that can turn heads without having the sense of "overdoing" on yourself?

Tiger of Sweden's Spring/ Summer Campaign this year (2009) shows how to prep up without having to much complications, yet, preserving that "tick" of being a head turner. Simplicity yet chic for the modern man and woman... it's all about that.

Its Going To Be A Short Summer

Not that rain will kill the smile on our faces; summer marks a look for short shorts for men, which is not that much of a common male fashion these past few seasons. Days of the colored jeans may have had their turn on the spotlight, short shorts will definitely turn heads even more.

Midweek Casuals

For the busy bodies, corporate freeks, and people who work their ass off for a living in a certain working environment, dress codes can be your biggest enemy. Keep your enemy closer and bend its spine in a hip and chic way. How?

Planning what clothes to wear ahead of time is the safest thing to rely on, however, when it comes to a point that you'll find this tiring (eventually), you can always set your "theme" instead of the clothes exactly. On Mondays, since it's the start of the week, you can go all dressed up, crossing up to Tuesday. Come Wednesday, the middle of the week, this is the start of giving hints of a laid back touch to your office attire... and this can go to what they call "dress down" up to Friday.

Since not all professional institutions declare a certain dress down day for a work week, you can always find ways to bend the rules without breaking it. My advise, do a little research ;)

And so it's a Wednesday, time for your Midweek Casuals ;)
